Every year from January through April, the Nosara area community raises funds to coat the region’s roads with syrupy molasses. The problem being solved – at least temporarily – is the dust. There is a reason why this tropical paradise on the Guanacaste Gold Coast has remained off the tourism super highway, despite being named a world’s best travel destination in 2014. The dirt roads, in the past, made the area hard to reach.
I have always enjoyed flying, I guess like a vast majority of people in the world, so after I found a good rate with Nature Air, for a flight to Nosara, I decided to use it to get to L’Acqua Viva Hotel during my last visit to this prestigious hotel. The experience of taking local flights while visiting Costa Rica is enhanced during the dry season thanks to the clear blue skies and the magnificent aerial views from the air.

More than 35 talented international and national artists will be selling handmade art and products in Playa Guiones at the third annual Holiday Art Fair on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014.
Hosted by the Nosara Artisans, the event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pacifico Azul Restaurant in Playa Guiones.
An easy 90-minute drive up the coast from L’acqua Viva Resort & Spa is the remarkable Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge. A part of the Tempisque Conservation Area, the Tamarindo Wildlife Refuge protects the saltwater mangrove forest of the Tamarindo Estuary and the mouth of the Matapalo River.
