Local Flight: To get to L´acqua Viva from San Jose it is possible to take a 40 minute flight to Nosara, where the airport is located. A shuttle from the hotel will pick you up  there (up on request ) and in less than ten minutes you will be at the hotel. You can also rent a car in San José; our activity center can help you with this, and make the 280 kilometers drive through beautiful and different forests and communities. A daily flight round trip San José-Nosara, just... fly by SANSA.

If you happen to arrive to Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia or Juan Santamaria in San Jose the activity center can arrange the taxi cab service or car rental and make a reservation for you, so that you can enjoy the ride from Liberia. We can help you set a transportation facility according with your needs.

Driving: Leaving San José, take the Pan-American Highway through the west to Puntarenas. Close to Puntarenas the road veers north - follow the signs to Liberia-, and take the turn off for the "La Amistad" bridge. Since you have crossed over the Gulf of Nicoya, head to the town of Nicoya. From Nicoya, head west towards Samara, and take the turn off into a non paved road right after the big gas station on the left. After you take this rural and scenic road you will have the chance to explore small typical towns of the ¨Guanacaste Pampa¨, a wide diversity on natural species, wonderful Guanacaste trees and different kinds of birds. And don´t be surprised as you may probably need to make a stop in the middle of the road and wait until the cattle are hauled by the cattle rancher, while enjoying the scenic landscapes, the sunny day and the real immersion in the local culture. It will take you 45 minutes on this road, following the signs, and you will finally reach Nosara.

Car Rental: There are many car rental companies in Costa Rica, but we recommend Alamo.

Private Transfer: We can arrange a private transfer with a very confidence driver from San José to Nosara, or Liberia to Nosara.

Regular Bus: A direct Bus departs daily from San José to Nosara. It leaves at 6:00 a.m., from the Alfaro bus terminal, 14th street, 5th avenue (la Coca Cola). The trip takes 6 hours to reach Nosara, be advice busses are not equipped with a/c.
