One of the most important music festivals in Guanacaste, Costa Rica is coming to Nosara from April 16 to 18, 2015. You won’t want to miss any of the details of the 2015 Caricaco Music Festival.
Named after the hermit crabs – called Caricaco in Costa Rican Spanish – that are so common on the Nosara, Costa Rica beaches, this year’s annual festival showcases big-name Costa Rican bands like Passiflora, Sonambulo, Alphabetics, 424 and Cocofunka.
According to event organizer Alejandro Gutierrez, the 2015 festival has more musical groups than in previous years; the event got its start in 2009. Gutierrez commented in the Voice of Guanacaste news: “What we want is to enlarge the festival experience. This year the festival won’t be one day; we wanted it to be bigger. On Thursday there will be concerts with DJ’s and between Friday and Saturday the bands will be playing.”
Another change this year is that the festival will be held in different places. On Thursday, April 16, DJ’s Fernando Melo and Fran Soto will play at Eskina Skate Park in Playa Guiones. On Friday, April 17, Sonambulo and Alphabetics will play at Solo Bueno Bar and Restaurant, also in Playa Guiones. All other bands will give their concerts at Finca Austria in Nosara on Saturday, April 18. You can see a map of the event and area, and all of the attractions, on Voice of Guanacaste.
