Costa Rica waves natural factory. Thanks to its extraordinary position escalation in surf worldwide practicing, and its incredible wave’s factory, Costa Rica will be the proud host of International Surf Association World Games 2009. This quick climbing was literally pushed by the force of the sea, from natural centers like Guiones Beach, a real outdoors school where students from all over the world, enroll themselves in those free regular courses offered by the sea of Nosara. Because of its wonderful characteristics, Guiones Beach is one of the best Costa Rica surfing beaches; in February 2008 it was the National Surf Championship scenario, and is likely to be so again in the future. Geographically it belongs to Nosara, a locality of Nicoya in Guanacaste province. This beach lies on a soft white sand stretch along six kilometers, is just one of the beaches near from L’acqua Viva Resort. Therefore, in addition to its seductive settings, L'acqua Viva Hotel is conveniently a strategic base for passionate explorers who love returning to their place of refuge and enjoying the end of the day in a calm and motivating environment.

The reliable swell of Guiones Beach. It is well known that surfers love the waves of Playa Guiones because it has a proven and incredible consistency for surf practicing throughout the year, at any time or season, with good breaking left and right peaks in all kind of tides. It’s said that this swell has a moody behavior during high tides; during low ones, the water tunnel with its clean and upright wall of blue atoms, tends to break drawing a better pronounced curve gaining a bigger hollow. The offshore winds come from the east. The ideal swell direction comes from west northwest. There is a known reefs sector, so it does not represent a security threat to surfers, but always be careful. Despite its growing fame, Guiones Beach does preserve the wild deep exclusivity and it never gets crowded. L'acqua Viva Hotel will recommend the best surf school in the area. Although Playa Guiones is not entirely suitable for beginners, some inspired surfers have learned their art over this Nosara’s reliable swell, near from L’acqua Viva Hotel, where the energizing  rest, bamboo textures and whispers of nature are grown together.
